Final Project › Constructivist Activity

In the constructivist activity we were writing the learning agreement for KAM II and focused on “constructivism”, the activity itself was to solve a real world problem, in our cases writing LA for KAM II is part of the Ph.D. study.

Instructional technologies used in this project: Adobe Flash, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, MS Word, CSS, discussion board and Internet.

Constructivism support collaborative work, and our activity was also a group work. We used Internet as a media of communication or also our main authoring environment. Initially we create a webpage for brainstorming: http://www.musabbir.com/8814_gr1.html, which was helpful for literature review, find more about the subject matter, gather available resources from the internet. Then we published our final draft on another webpage: http://www.musabbir.com/8814_la1.html and all the team members were constantly reviewing another person’s work and making connection with their own work, and since all the information was available online, it was very easy to follow each others progress.

According to constructivism learning theory we all construct our own perspective of the world, based on individual experiences; Each member of the group did their own study and research about the topic, theories and theorist and at the end we combined each members contribution for the final draft. This activity helped us to formulate our own questions as we were doing research and trying to make a connection with each other’s works.

The Constructivist Group Project encouraged teamwork and the use of peers as resources, and the use of Internet and multimedia authoring software was beneficiary for this kind of collaborative learning. Internet was alos used for social interaction and discovery learning over the distance.
